Magnuson Park Pickleball Court Development

Updated: April 2, 2026

Early 2026

Thank you to everyone who expressed concern with locating pickleball courts at the parking lot on the south side of Magnuson Park, also known as Parking Lot E-5 north of NE 65th Street. A Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) was initiated to assess the impacts of the Alternatives proposed for this site. Based on the outcomes of the Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Study and the respective mitigation strategies and cost estimates, SPR is pivoting to explore opportunities for 8 lit pickleball courts in proximity to Building 27 located north of NE NOAA Drive. Please continue to visit this page for updates.

Funding for this project comes from the 2023-2028 Seattle Park District Financial Plan. $2.1 million is allocated for the planning, design and construction of a dedicated pickleball court facility by 2026. This total also covers SPR staff time and other associated costs, such as sales tax, permitting fees, consultant design fees, etc.
